What is TriCaster?
NewTek TriCasterTM
is designed for enterprise market professionals who want to get their message
across in the most powerful way possible - video. TriCasterTM
combines everything found in a television mobile truck into a backpack. It has a
very easy interface using plain language instead of video jargon so corporate
communications, human resource and corporate training professionals can easily
use it. It’s also perfect for teachers/education, local access channels or
anyone wanting to communicate live events.
Why do I need TriCaster?
TriCasterTM
is the perfect device to handle any presentation need, from mixing live cameras
and video playback, to high-resolution projection of graphics and animations
directly to a video projector. Nothing else can do what TriCasterTM
can do, such as sharing full-screen graphics and video from another person
across the local network, mixing it with live sources, streaming your live
presentation to the Internet, or recording it all as full-resolution digital
video. TriCasterTM
is designed for presenters who are not familiar with video equipment or
terminology. Just turn it on and reach the world.
What makes TriCasterTM
so different?
- TriCasterTM
brings several revolutionary technologies to the presentation market:
- Portability in a petite box that is only 10
pounds and less than a cubic foot.
- Simplicity of design as TriCasterTM
is dedicated to professional presentations, so within seconds of powering
up, you are ready to begin.
- iVGA allows you to pull in full-screen
videos and graphics from a computer across the network.
- VGA Out sends your high-quality graphics and
images directly to the projector without compromising quality. Video is
scaled UP to the projector’s resolution; that one TriCasterTM
feature alone would cost thousands if you had to rely on external scalers.
- Virtual VCR allows you to cue up video
clips, and the moment they’re selected, they begin playing, allowing you
the most professional presentation imaginable.
TriCasterTM
supports 3 Live Inputs - Y/C or Composite, Virtual VCR for hard disk playback of
video, template driven titles. Output options include live analog video output,
DV output for edited projects, VGA output for projectors and live internet
streaming files.
Key features of TriCasterTM
include:
- Easy interface
- Live output times three (Video, Internet and
Projector)
- Virtual VCR
- Template Based CG
- Network in - Any computer on your network
can be treated as a LIVE video source
- XGA Resolution Titles
- Video transitions
- Archive Internet Streams
- Record live events
- One Click Internet streaming
- Audio mixing
- Chroma Keying (Green/Blue Screen)
- Video Editing (Storyboard or Timeline)
- Projector output with video scalers
- Digital video support for editing and
playback.
- Headphone output
- Dual microphone inputs (1/4")
- 3 camera inputs
- TriCasterTM
VMTM
(optional Hardware Switcher Interface)
Features:
Live Cameras
Instantly incorporate live video, taking the
Y/C or composite video connection from the camera and plugging straight into
TriCaster's convenient front connection panel.
As soon as you plug in a camera, its video
appears on-screen and is ready for use in your presentation. Quickly connect up
to three cameras for quick and compelling digital video that can then be sent to
tape, to a projector or to the Internet. Live events become much easier and
faster to set up thanks to TriCaster.
Network In (iVGATM)
This exclusive TriCasterTM
technology is like nothing you've ever seen before. Each computer on the network
(PC or Mac) runs a small application so it is 'seen' by TriCaster. The TriCasterTM
producer can then select any one of those computer screens, and bring it into
the presentation in real-time.This goes way beyond sharing graphics, though.
iVGA is capable of brining in full-screen images, animations and even video
playing on the outlying computer with incredible clarity and smoothness. The
possibilities are exciting:
- A co-worker breezes into the meeting with
the latest ad storyboards or initial product videos. No longer do you have
to halt the meeting for him to connect his system to the projector; just
plug into the room's network connection, and with a couple mouse clicks, he
can drive the video, while you archive this to digital video.
- Financial information can change right
before your eyes. One of the presenters displays a ticker page on his
computer, which can be viewed by entire group with a single click.
VCR
Live Production can easily be reinforced with
additional animations and edited videos. TriCasterTM
offers total freedom of playback with its Virtual VCR. This is even easier to
use than your VCR at home. Drop a video clip into the Virtual VCR and when
you're ready to make it live, it begins playing right away. With a big, friendly
button just for VCR on the video mixer, cutting between clips and cameras is a
snap.
Picture
If it's a picture on a computer, you can use it
in your live presentation. TriCaster's Picture player is one of several inputs
to the video mixer, and can display pictures in very high detail. You can drop
pictures into the Picture folder and call them up in anyorder. Help your
customers better understand each of your points by presenting supporting graphs
and data using this function. A simple forward/back button below the picture
monitor lets you set or change the pace of playback at any time.
Streaming Encoder/Server
New Customer Relations
Never again do you have to limit your audience to the people in the room.
Today's corporations are quietly discovering the competitive advantage that
Internet streaming provides. Further, live streaming is more beneficial than
on-demand, as viewers report stronger positive impressions when watching a live
event. Let TriCasterTM
help your key accounts, hot new leads, vendors and many others join in on your
important meetings or events.
Audio Mixer
Running a presentation with live speakers and
recorded footage requires flexibility and full control of audio, and TriCasterTM
has simplified this to a couple of controls. Each source (mic1, mic2, line, and
VCR) has its own audio level controls and a single output volume control. Verify
the quality of your signal with on-board audio meters as well as with the
integrated headphone. Each input has Balance, Equalization and Solo. The
microphone inputs also have an automated Talk Over button, to quickly reduce the
volume of all other inputs, giving that microphone level priority.
Connect a camera or video playback deck to
TriCaster, and use the streamlined capture functions to ingest clips for editing
or live production playback. Choose an analog or digital connection, provide a
name for the video clip and you can quickly begin capturing up to 12 hours of
video. The virtual VCR offers very simple start and stop functions.
Storyboard Simplicity: TriCaster's
Storyboard editor is simple enough to master in seconds, as all pictures and
videos sequence one after another. This is the best place to start editing, as
you can quickly re-arrange and then play to see the changes.
Timeline Power: The
power of the Timeline is in the way it can create picture-in-picture effects,
add titles and quickly create multiple video layers.
Easily add transitions, and your project is now
ready to be utilized in several ways; output as a digital video file, send to
the projector or stream to the Internet. While the Storyboard is fast and
simple, this is still a very powerful editor, capable of any special effect
you'll need.
- Multiple video layers
- Animated titles
- Slow motion
- Panning, 3D rotation, soft edges and more
Along with the hundreds of professional
transitions included, you have the all the tools you need to create or modify
compelling messages on-site.
Audio Mixer:Bring
in music or audio files through the capture panel or across the network, and
bring them into your project without importing or converting anything. TriCasterTM
accepts .wav .MP3 and DV audio for immediate playback with control over left and
right channels, a master audio slider and even a visual stereo positioner.
