The ADVC300 is the ultimate bidirectional analog to digital video converter unit for the video enthusiast. Featuring high-quality image enhancement technology including digital noise reduction and image stabilization using Line Time Base Correction (LTBC), ADVC300 instantly cleans, stabilizes and preserves old VHS and Hi8 videos in clean DV format. Supporting Windows and Mac OS , ADVC300 is compatible with all widely used video editing applications including Canopus EDIUS, Final Cut Pro , Avid Xpress DV and Adobe Premiere Pro. • Connects to all widely used DV and analog video equipment • Converts VHS, S-VHS and Hi8 analog videotapes to DV and back in one simple step • Cleans and enhances analog video input, ideal for preserving aged videotape footage • Capable of capturing and exporting analog video from leading video editing and DVD authoring applications for Windows and Mac OS • Can be used as a stand-alone bidirectional analog / digital video converter without needing a computer • Component video output support, ideal for monitoring video with a broadcast video monitor • NTSC and PAL compatible Intelligent Input/Output ADVC300's intelligent usability allows for easy setup and connection in any video environment. ADVC300 features color bar reference signal output and advanced analog input control software for adjusting brightness, contrast, saturation, hue and sharpness. Proven DV Codec Technology At the heart of the ADVC300 is the innovative Canopus DV codec chip, providing the industry's best picture quality preservation during analog-to-DV and DV-to-analog conversion. Clean, Stabilize and Preserve Analog Video ADVC300 employs advanced 3D Y/C separation, 3D noise reduction and Line Time Base Correction (LTBC) functions for perfect frame synchronization. Poor analog source video is filtered and stabilized prior to DV conversion. ADVC300 is also ideal for “cleaning” old analog video and output back to analog tape. Advanced Image Enhancement Features 2D/3D Y/C Separation 2D Y/C separation separates Brightness (Y) and Chrominance (C) from the composite source signal by one frame. The 3D Y/C separation of the ADVC300 separates by cross-referencing each frame with the frames immediately in front and behind, further refining and improving the overall image quality (NTSC only). Separates brightness (y) and color (c) signals to provide cleaner video. Digital 3D Noise Reduction Eliminates noise in the analog video signal by detecting noise based on the characteristic. Removes any sudden noise by comparing previous and subsequent frames. Digital 3D Frame Synchronizer Stores incoming signals into a frame buffer to supply a stable, synchronized signal to the DV encoder chip. Digital Line Time Base Corrector (LTBC) Detects images with strong horizontal jitter and employs powerful correction methods to repair the jitter. Cleans and stabilizes old analog videotapes. Digital Auto Gain Control (AGC) Automatically adjusts the input video level for a clearer picture. Locked Audio Support Other converters can lose audio/video sync when converting longer segments of video. ADVC300 supports locked audio when converting from analog to digital, assuring perfect audio and video synchronization.
