This model offers high quality video/audio capture of DV and professional digital sources. The Niagara 5229 provides a combination of composite video (BNC), S-Video, DV (via IEEE 1394), SDI (SMTPE-259M) video with embedded SDI audio, unbalanced stereo audio, balanced stereo audio (XLR), and professional digital audio (AES/EBU) via included 1U rackmount breakout panel. A/V monitoring is available via a separate breakout cable.
This system also includes; Niagara SCX remote encoder management and control software and Niagara SchedulStream encoder scheduling software (see detailed product descriptions under "Niagara Software"); Osprey SimulStream feature supports multiple concurrent streams of RealNetworks RealVideo and Microsoft Windows Media at variable bit rates. Dual Pentium 4 Xeon processor system, Dual gigabit Ethernet, Real Producer Plus, Windows Media Encoder V9, DVD-RW w/Nero software and Windows XP Professional. Two serial ATA 160-gigabyte hard drives in RAID configuration. Capable of adding two additional cold-swap ATA hard drives (see "Rackmount System Accessories" for disk upgrade).
