New Licensing Models Respond to Demand for Large-Scale High-Volume Encoding and Compression Solutions
SALT LAKE CITY (Jan. 8, 2007) -- Sorenson Media, the worldwide leader of video encoding and compression applications for digital video professionals and enthusiasts, today announced the availability of new license models that deliver Sorenson compression and encoding solutions in an unlimited monthly encoding volume.
The new Sorenson Squeeze licensing models are available for Sorenson Squeeze for Flash and the Sorenson Squeeze Compression Suite license. Pricing is available both with and without the On2 Pro Codec.
The Sorenson Squeeze for Flash license, based on the company’s market-leading product for encoding video into Flash, enables users to efficiently encode in SWF and FLV formats. The Sorenson Squeeze Compression Suite license, based on the industry-leading Sorenson Squeeze Compression Suite enhanced with additional plug-ins, supports all leading formats, including Windows Media, QuickTime, Flash, Real, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, 3GPP, PSP and others.
Both Sorenson Media licensing models include unlimited encoding, and are applicable to large-scale users such as media organizations and video sharing sites that encode up to thousands of videos per day. Customers for both licensing models will receive all available Sorenson Squeeze upgrades. The purchase of the Sorenson Squeeze for Flash license and the Sorenson Squeeze Compression Suite license will include an upgrade from Sorenson Squeeze 4.0 and earlier versions to Sorenson Squeeze 4.5, and to subsequent versions of Sorenson Squeeze released by Sorenson Media while the license is in effect.
Sorenson Media instituted its licensing models as the company became aware that a growing number of users were attempting to use desktop versions of Sorenson Squeeze to fuel high-volume video encoding business. Desktop versions have a limit of 1,500 files encoded per month. The new licensing models reflect pricing appropriate to enterprise server-level software.

Pricing and Availability
The Sorenson Squeeze for Flash license is priced at an annual subscription level of $1,238 per system in single-unit quantities. The Sorenson Squeeze Compression Suite license is priced at an annual subscription rate of $2,500 per system in single-unit quantities. Neither price includes the On2 Pro Codec, which is available at an additional cost. Discounts are available for higher quantities of licenses.
