Primera Bravo SE
Primera Technology is an industry leader in the mid-range duplication and printing equipment. On September 6th they will be announcing a new addition to their "Bravo" CD/DVD duplication line. The Bravo SE will complete the CD/DVD duplication line with a Bravo Pro at $3995, Bravo II at $2695, and now the new Bravo SE at $1495. Primera is going after a new segment of consumers that do not need the throughput or want to invest into the larger ounterparts. There are many features of the SE that warrants a smaller version of their tremendously popular Bravo II. The Bravo SE holds up to 20 discs ready to be burned and printed at a speed of about 10 to 12 disc per hour. It is slightly different in that it uses only 1 ink cartridge to produce the 4800dpi quality from outside edge to the hub of a disc. The full 11.5ml ink cartridge the unit ships with ($32 value) yields about 100 discs before a replacement is needed. Also available is an auto printer($995), the difference being it does not include the Pioneer CDR/DVDR for burning. An obvious application would be to use the auto printer in conjunction with a tower duplicator. Unlike the rest of the Bravo family, there is no CD only version of the Bravo SE. A notable characteristic of Primeras' complete Bravo line is they all work with both PC and Mac straight out of the box. The price point of the Bravo SE is a key feature. It should allow anyone that has no solution or is frustrated by printing 1 disc or 1 label at a time, to achieve professional quality output. All can be done unattended with a couple mouse clicks, within the software package, that ships in each box.
Here's how the process works:
1. Bravo SE's robot arm picks up a blank disc from the input bin.
2. The disc is placed into the integrated Pioneer DVD/CD recorder.
3. The disc is burned.
4. The robot moves the disc to the built-in, 4800 dip direct-to-disc inkjet color printer.
5. The disc is printed
6. The robot picks the disc from the printer, places it into the output bin and starts over again.
