NewTek's SpeedEdit now supports Windows Vista

‘World’s Fastest Video Editor’ ready for newest OS

San Antonio, Texas -- April 16, 2007 -- NewTek, Inc., manufacturer of industry-leading video and 3D animation products, today announced that SpeedEDIT™, its award-winning nonlinear editing software, is now compatible with Microsoft’s new Windows® Vista™ Operating System. SpeedEDIT owners can download the free update that improves display speeds while editing.

NewTek SpeedEDIT brings a more efficient video editing workflow, independently mixing resolutions aspects and formats within any video project. Multi-definition editing of native clips - from web streams to Hi Definition (HD) – help you transition smoothly into HD production, by editing Standard Definition (SD) and HD clips on the same timeline.

“NewTek is positioning the editing community for flexibility as video transitions from Standard Definition to both High Definition and IPTV” says Vice President of Sales and Video Marketing Philip Nelson. “SpeedEDIT’s resolution independence and wide acceptance of all major video formats means that editors cutting DV today will be ready for the upgrade to HD.”

Microsoft’s new operating system offers some advantages to SpeedEDIT users, including faster application loading and the ability to shadow copy daily restore points for system recovery.

SpeedEDIT features include:

Resolution independence, mixing SD & HD clips in real-time
Frame-rate independence
Aspect independence
Optimized for Dual and Quad-core systems
Real-time, full-resolution HDV previews
Linked storyboard and timeline views
CG Post™ animated titling
